You on the Moors Now (2023) at Carnegie Mellon
Directed by Katie Brook
  • Served as Dramaturg throughout the design and rehearsal process
  • Developed a resource website to house play analysis, script glossary, and scholarly resources
  • Wrote a program note to orient the audience's prior knowledge within the world of the play
  • Designed and constructed a lobby display to acclimate the audience to the play's tone. "Iconic Firsts in HERstory" is a satirical feminist museum exhibit, comprised of real and imagined historical moments
  • Supported actors with research materials and presence in the rehearsal room
  • Collaborated with designers to facilitate cohesion and foundation in the novels
  • Participated in a panel for students of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute's class, "A Look Behind The Curtain: Putting On A Production"

  • Served as Assistant Dramaturg and Co-Adapter on a new work including three short stories by Octavia Butler and Alexis Pauline-Gumbs
  • Collaborated with Nicole Brewer and Mei Ann Teo in script analysis and workshopping
  • Tracked changes in the devising process
  • Supported development of actor and audience materials

PLAYWRITING

Proximity (2021)
  • Wrote a 15 minute play about Clara Rockmore, the first master of the newly-invented theremin, facing moments in her past before giving one of the most important concerts of her life
  • Assembled a creative team of ten people to create the set, sound, and costumes
  • Received a Microgrant from the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry
  • Self produced the play in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University's School of Music in Kresge Hall
  • Selected to read an excerpt in City Theatre's Playwright's Slam as part of their 2022 Momentum Festival

  • Wrote, in conversation with Aaron Satyanarayana, a one act play comprised of found language from the Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas hearings
  • Assembled and collaborated with a creative team of 13 people
  • Produced the show in the School of Drama’s annual play festival

  • Appeared in an article, “Kids Give ‘Em Hell About High Water” by Nexus Media, which was picked up by PBS, ThinkProgress, and The Years Project

Possession: Night at the Museum for Brown People (2022) – Director
CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY'S PLAYGROUND FESTIVAL XX
  • Led the process of devising: research, idea generation, character development, outlining, writing, and staging
  • Advised lighting, sound, scenic, and media designers creating alongside actors
  • Facilitated a decolonial space that prioritized ancestral and lived experience, focused on actor embodiment above text-based knowledge

SCOTCH'N'SODA THEATRE AT CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY
  • Facilitated conversations about harm reduction, access needs, and racial consciousness
  • Mediated communication between actors, directors, and the Scotch'n'Soda Board
  • Developed the "Dear Dramaturg," form to support dramaturgical inquiry, transparency, and accountability
  • Collaborated to write a program note about the history and prior adaptations of Clue

Klezmer Cabaret (2021) – Dramaturg

  • Created a setlist of Klezmer songs in collaboration with Music Directors, Etan Cohn and Josh Fried
  • Wrote comedic monologues for the cabaret's Emcee character
  • Wrote a program note about the history and importance of Klezmer music
  • Researched and relayed Yiddish translations and pronunciation
